Deanna Venison

Deanna L. Venison is an accomplished professional from Rockledge, Florida, and her journey in the grocery retail industry is nothing short of inspiring.  With over 30 years of experience, she has made remarkable contributions, often breaking barriers in a male-dominated field. Although her childhood dream was to become a fashion designer, Deanna found her calling in retail grocery, where she has emerged as a leader and a mentor.

Deanna entered the industry during a time when things were very different. She faced numerous challenges as a female African American in a male-dominated environment. Nevertheless, her resilience and optimism, fueled by the values instilled in her by her grandparents, hard work, striving for excellence, and maintaining hope, guided her through tough times. One of her proudest achievements is becoming her company’s first female African American store manager, a milestone she holds dear.

A passionate advocate for mentoring the next generation of leaders, Deanna emphasizes the importance of embracing change and delivering results. She understands aspiring leaders need to know how significant executive presence is and should work hard to earn their place in senior leadership discussions.

Two years ago, Deanna decided to share her journey through writing to empower others. Her book, “Leading The Aisles: Women’s Journey to Success in the Grocery Industry,” serves as a valuable resource for both women and men in the retail grocery sector. Through her writing, she hopes to inspire future leaders to build purposeful careers and make meaningful contributions within their organizations.
